Hi, Thom Gadoury again isent a message yesterday but i forgot to change
the subject for it to go through i hope someone got it anyway,I am
trying to learn what tribe my ancestors originally came from,I also want
learn more about Cree religous beliefs and if anyone is still living the
old way,like trapping and hunting etc.There is so much i want to learn i
will not ask to many questions right away and i hope people will take

Sago,

I am hoping someone on this list can help me - I am trying to find out if
my Cree ancestors had a family clan.  They were DeMontigny's and lived in
the Pas and Binscarth, Manitoba.  I now live amongst the Mohawk in Six
Nations Territory and I need to know my clan in order for my newborn son to
be given his Indian name.  My partner's clan is Bear.  Do the Cree have a
similar system?  The relatives I have contacted have been brought up
Catholic and don't know the old ways.  Also, is there a Cree ceremony for
name giving?  I was also brought up without knowing these traditions and
would appreciate any help offered.  My son will be brought up with the
Longhouse traditions and Mohawk language but I would still like him to know
about his Cree ancestry.

My accountant says originally his last name was Bousquet.He showed me
a picture of an indian chief that was in the Providence journal,Prov-
idence R.I.,does anyone know who this chief was and what tribe he was 
from.Origin is Quebec Canada. Please reply to Thom.
